SAFDA Tournaments

History was made this weekend when the first SAFDA titles were awarded to 3 dogs from Over The Top Agility .

My own Jazz, Diana Pritchett's Donna and Kerry, (Donna run by Linda Barnard) were awarded their FLYBALL DOG titles at a tournament held on Saturday by Boland at Theo Marias Park.

On Sunday in the beautiful town of Franschoek on the lawns next to the monument 5 other dogs earned their FLYBALL DOG titles.

Boland Flyers's Timmy (Roche Vermaak), Xylo (Fiona Powrie), Fritz (Johan Botha) and Lofy (Mauriza Vermaak) and my youngster Ice running only for the second time with the South Easters.

As always action packed, nerve racking tournaments with some comic relief by Boland's littly J-boy and macho man Tyson and Over The Top's Dipstick.

Canal Walk winners South Easters came out tops for the weekend with Boland Flyers breathing down their necks. Certificates will be handed to them shortly and at the rate these dogs are improving on their times it is not going to be long before the first FLYBALL DOG EXCELLENT titles will be awarded.

Saturday 17th

1st South Easters = Jazz, Ice, Donna and Kerry = 23.38 = 25 + 1 bonus points to each dog
2nd Boland Flyers = 23.47 = 25 points to each dog
3rd Boland Falcons = 26.58 = 5 points to each dog
4th Province Roadrunners = Dipstick, Wombat, Ceilidh, Tessa = 29.17 = 5 points to each dog
5th Greazed Lightning = Koko, Scsi, Tag, Ceilidh = 30.48 = 5 points to each dog

Sunday 18th

You will notice that the winning team's time is slower than the time of the 2nd team. The reason is that the South Easters had 4 wins to Boland Flyers's 3 wins. The time allocated to a team is the fastest of the teams's last 2 runs. Each dog in a team is given points according to the winning time of the team and the winners get 1 bonus point. This makes it very exciting as it is very difficult to know who the winners are until the last race.

1st South Easters (same dogs as Saturday) = 24 sec. = 25 + 1 Points
2nd Boland Flyers = 23.08 = 25 points
3rd Province Road Runners = Wombat, Tag, Tessa, Dipstick = 43.08 = no points
4th Boland Falcons = 47.55 = no points
5th Boland Fire Dogs = 41.37 = no points
